Thought of the day
Today is the Ascension, no matter what they tell you. It's Ascension Thursday, it didn't happen on a Sunday...All Holy Days should be brought back to their rightful places.

Many things are mere symptoms of bigger problems. Certain things aren't intrinsically evil, but most certainly do not help matters.

Thought of the day
Personal prayer and Liturgical prayer should be connected. Here is a tradition we can borrow from the East, singing the propers through out the day.
This post is probably going to rub some people the wrong way...too bad.
**sensitive images alert, if you're squeamish, you might wish to not click the first 3 links.
All this attention to Michael Sam is really making me sick. He's a 7th round pick...but I've been planning this post for a while.
Somethings really do repulse me or disgust me, freak injuries, child abuse, and of course two guys kissing.
I'm not apologizing for feeling this way towards those things, but really something in my inner being goes off and says...this can't be. Now that said is it automatically implicit that I "hate" the individuals involved in the actions there of? Absolutely not. Although people do actions, these actions that they do, do not define them, and should be distinguished from the rest of the person.
Having tons of years of public school, and teaching teenagers, rest assured, I've been exposed to my fair share of things and am probably desensitized to a lot more things than you'd probably think. But even I have a breaking point to the point of disgust.
No, I'm not homophobic. If a person who is homosexual comes towards me, I'm not going to run away, screaming like Justina Bieber towards the nearest town next door. Granted I'm not much of a people person** (the joys of being an introvert, people can be called upon in quotas)....I do not approve of such acts, this blog is an excellent synopsis of what I'm thinking.
The actions we take are always choices. We can freely choose to NOT do something (it may be difficult but it can be done).
Apparently May 17ths is national day against Homophobia, h/t to Linen on the Hedgerow
I seriously know of no one who actually runs scared and quakes in fear at the sight of someone homosexual. I do know of people who are simply disgusted by their actions, and do not hate the people though...

I'm sure by now you've all heard of the "black mass"** that will be happening at Harvard. Please join in doing an act of reparation at 8:00 PM EST, regardless of whether one needs to go to confession, isn't practicing, or what not. We can't stand still as Our Lord is mocked.
**Even if it's a simulated black mass, that still doesn't matter, acts of reparation should be done...I'll be using the texts from forgiveness vespers (minus the beginning of great lent)...

Appreciate your mothers! It's ridiculously offensive to those that have lost theirs to hear y'all fighting with yours, not realizing how precious those moments are.

Without basis in Truth, religious liberty leads to indifferentism which is a symptom of the dictatorship of relativism.

The inability to separate
Sorry for not blogging much lately, things are under a bit of a frustration point with me...and while I'm praying for clarity, things are on cruise control for the time being.
I find often times that collectively we don't have an ability to make distinctions between anything. There's a pidge-podge of things that are combined together and either assumed to be equal, or assumed to be talked about, when nothing of that notion is being considered.
It's a difference between those of us that think linearly, and look at each situation in their own distinct circumstances and those of us that are non-linear and consider situations without distinction.
Too often times we often talk directly past each other, and not to each other. In addition, the non-linear people take things that linear people say to conclusions that were not thought of.
Without the ability to separate, things will get out of hand...more on this topic later.
